Another AED in Northumberland
NORTHUMBERLAND – The Northumberland Borough PD received an automated external defibrillator (AED) to go into a police cruiser. The department said the AED was paid for with a grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which is associated with the Fraternal Order of Police.
Northumberland police chief Clifford Kringer said in a statement, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was established in 2005 with the purpose of providing funding, life saving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations.
FOP’s National President Chuck Canterbury said that a $250,000 grant would help get 263 AED’s to police across the country. Pennsylvania received 26 of those. To learn more about Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation go to FirehouseSubsFoundation.org. (Christopher Elio)
