DANVILLE—Teachers in the Danville Area School District plan to go on strike this Friday. During a school board meeting Tuesday night, board members were questioned about ‘bargaining in bad faith.’ In response, board president Allan Schappert invited the critic to stay after the meeting, saying it would take too long to explain the board’s defense.
Schappert later announced that he withdrew from the negotiations on June 10, so he can no longer be seen as a scapegoat. When asked if he believes the teachers will strike on Friday, October 16, Schappert said he did not know. (Kory Kramer)
