LEWISBURG – A former Bucknell University student previously charged with 44 counts of invasion of privacy is now facing another felony charge of sexual abuse of children. Court documents say 21-year-old Matthew Nowell of New Jersey was charged and arraigned this week at the office of District Judge Jeffrey Rowe and released on $100,000 unsecured bail.
Court documents say this latest incident occurred when 175 explicit videos were found on Nowell’s computer. The videos portrayed 14 males under 18 who are either nude or involved in sexual acts. Bucknell Public Safety officers were alerted to Nowell’s actions after New Jersey police reported finding child pornography on a computer belonging to him.
We last told you the prior invasion of privacy charges against Nowell were filed after he allegedly installed hidden cameras in a bathroom on campus, and in an on-campus club.
Nowell is scheduled for formal arraignments for both sets of charges in the coming weeks in front of Judge Lori Hackenberg.
