New Head Football Coach for the Shikellamy Braves

The Shikellamy School District has a new head football coach. Interim coach Mike Hoover was hired last night at the Shikellamy School Board meeting on an 8-0 vote. Hoover thanked the board and community for supporting him. Hoover took over as interim coach after Jim Keiser resigned in early November. In other district news, Wendy Wiest will remain as president of the board and Slade Shreck stays on as vice president. And the Daily Item reports Business Manager Brian Manning will receive a $35,000 raise over the next five years, after a 5-4 vote.
