LEWISBURG – There will soon be a new fun, interactive, hands-on museum for kids in the Susquehanna Valley. The Lewisburg Children’s Museum is the brainchild of Erin Jablonski and Abby Gulden-Luthi, two moms of young children who want to provide another learning opportunity for kids.
The museum will occupy 9,000 square feet in the (soon to be old) Lewisburg High School building on Market Street. Gulden-Luthi describes some of the subjects that will be part of the museum, “We will focus on natural science, physical science, imagination, creation, inside the body, and just show children things that are part of their everyday life, but they may not know how they work.”
Jablonski says an entertaining, educational opportunity will draw people to Lewisburg, particularly in the winter, “It’ll be a regional attraction. It is cold and damp here in the Valley for a long time and people with kids from toddler age to 10 or so are really desperate for things to do.”
Fundraising and planning are already in the works for the museum. You can keep up with the latest by visiting the Lewisburg Children’s Museum’s Facebook page. They have a fund raiser today through Sunday in Lewisburg, at the Strong Spas location along Route 15.
