SELINSGROVE—- The Little Norway Ice Rink in Selinsgrove is getting a new water line system. A GoFundMe Campaign for the Selinsgrove rink raised $2,500. At the Selinsgrove Borough Council meeting on Monday, Shane Hendricks, council member, says this will help improve the rink, “We’re looking to raise funds to purchase a pump where we’re able to flood the ice skating rink during the season and also at the start of the season.”
A staple part of Selinsgrove, Hendricks says it’s important to the community, “The kids love it and it’s really enjoyable to see a couple hundred kids out there on the weekend ice skating.”The funds raised will pay for a new pump to flood the rink so they can stay open more weeks during the winter months.
The board also approved Vince Stoops to be reappointed to the Parks and Recreation Board, and also as chairman. Hendricks says Stoops will bring great energy to the board, “I’ve been on Parks and Recs for fifteen years. It’s just new blood, new energy, new enthusiasm.
