BLOOMSBURG – A murder suspect wants her trial moved out of Columbia County because of pre-trial publicity. The Daily Item reports Maria Sanutti-Spencer either wants a jury from outside Columbia County to hear her case or the trial moved outside of the county.
Sanutti-Spencer is charged along with her father, Anthony Franklin of Harrisburg, for the 2012 shooting death of her estranged husband, Frank Spencer. Jury selection is scheduled to begin on September 15. Police say Sanutti-Spencer and Franklin plotted the murder of Frank Spencer, who was shot with a .30-caliber rifle in the torso and also in the head and neck with a handgun. (Ali Stevens)
