MOUNT CARMEL – Pennlive is reporting. A grocery store in Northumberland County sold a scratch-off ticket worth $1 million, according to Pennsylvania Lottery officials.
The Million Dollar Cash fall ticket was sold at Boyer’s Food Market at 2688 Locust Gap Highway in Mount Carmel. The market will win $5,000 for selling the ticket.
Million Dollar Cash fall is a $20 game that offers top prizes of $1 million. According to the lottery website, there are still five tickets out there that are each worth $1 million.
Scratch-off prizes expire one year from the game’s end-sale date.
The lottery said scratch-offs are distributed at random, meaning the Pennsylvania Lottery and its retailers do not know where winning tickets will be sold. The Lottery learns where winning tickets are sold only after a prize has been claimed.
