WILLIAMSPORT – A mom whose son hanged himself while jailed at Northumberland County Prison has sued the county. The News-Item reports Sherry Beers of Paxinos filed the lawsuit last Thursday in federal court in Williamsport through her attorney.
According to the News-Item, Beers is suing the county for inadequate mental health screening, monitoring, and an inattentive staff member.
We last told you Beers son, Sean Beers, committed suicide inside the prison last September.
Beers sued the county once before in 2016, following the suicide of her first son, Andrew, at the county jail, which was settled the county.
