BELLEFONTE — A 40-year-old Centre County woman is facing felony charges after police say she withheld vital medical supplies from her 17-year-old diabetic daughter, who was later hospitalized in critical condition.
Elizabeth Timblin, of Pleasant Gap, was charged by Spring Township Police following a May 28 incident in which her daughter suffered diabetic ketoacidosis and was transferred to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Police say Timblin withheld Dexcom glucose monitors in an attempt to extort her estranged husband, who has custody of the child. Timblin is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal use of a phone, and reckless endangerment. Her hearing is set for July 16.
