SHAMOKIN – A new investigation is being launched into the deceptive practices of a Shamokin businessman. Jerome Lucht, owner of Anvil Hearing Aid Center was charged with fraud last week.
Northumberland County district attorney Ann Targonski says ten additional victims have come forward claiming financial losses to Lucht. The initial investigation revealed Lucht accepted payments from customers who needed new hearing aids and never applied those payments toward new aids for those customers.
Targonski says there is now a total of fifteen victims, twelve of whom suffered financial losses. Recent interviews conducted by the DA’s office suggest there may still additional victims.
