Montour County Looking to Expand Housing Rehabilitation Grant

DANVILLE – Montour County is partnering with SEDA-COG, looking to expand housing rehabilitation grants for its residents. SEDA-COG says the county is applying for a $300,000 housing rehabilitation grant to the Department of Community and Economic Development.

SEDA-COG says interested county residents should apply now to be put on the wait list for no-cost repairs.

SEDA-COG says qualifying residents may receive up to $65,000 for home repairs, including up to a $50,000 interest free loan. The loans will be forgiven if the property is not sold or transferred over five years.

SEDA-COG says an additional $15,000 will be used for work related to lead-based paint.

Eligible repairs include structural, roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, window replacement, radon or lead paint mitigation, and energy-related improvements.

Interested residents wanting information, or to be put on the wait list may call SEDA-COG to speak with Audrey Fredrick at 570-524-4491.
