DANVILLE – Plans to fix the Montour County Jail and Courthouse  and other government buildings have taken the next step. The Daily Item reports the Montour County Commissioners accepted a loan proposal Tuesday from Mifflinburg Bank and Trust that could be worth up to $2.5 million. The five year loan comes at a rate of 2.92 percent.

The Daily Item also says the county has also decided to sell the two buildings on Woodbine Lane and some land. This comes as the county works to consolidate the county’s offices in the courthouse and the former Danville Elementary School.
