Milton Superintendent addresses child safety walking to school

MILTON – Following two attempted child abduction attempts, one near the Milton Middle School, student safety concerns have emerged.  We talked on the newsline with Milton School District Superintendent Cathy Keegan; she says the school district and the Milton Borough Police have a strong working relationship, “With the secure school resource officer serving as support for the Milton Area School District as a member of the Milton Borough Police Department, we work collaboratively on any situations that require this level of high alert.”

Keegan also says communication from the district and police to concerned parents remains the No.  1 priority, “The Milton Borough police keeps the Milton Area School District informed so that we can be a conduit with our families through the various mediums that we have available to us.”

Keegan adds Milton police continually update releases about incidents to the district. She says upon receiving those updates, the district will continue to educate families to understand the concerns of Milton Borough and the safety steps parents can take to ensure their children are safe.
