DANVILLE – A former Valley resident is the new superintendent of the Danville Area School District. The Daily Item reports Jason Bendle, a 1995 Milton graduate, was hired during Tuesday night’s school board meeting. The hire was approved by an 8-0 vote with one absence.
Bendle will have a starting annual salary of $132,500 under a five-year contract, effective January 1. The 40-year-old Bendle is currently the superintendent of the St. Clair Area School District in Schuylkill County. He’ll replace Cheryl Latorre, who retired July 31.
