NEW COLUMBIA – NorthcentralPA.com is reporting… A Milton man allegedly called 911 as he led police on a high-speed chase. Police charged Neal Lilley Jr. after he led them on a chase on Jan. 6 through Northumberland and Union counties.
Milton Police spotted Lilley shortly after 1:30 a.m. driving a black sedan in Milton that did not have a registration plate. Police say he stopped initially but then fled. At one point, Lilley called 911 as he was fleeing from police and told them he knew police were behind him but he “did not do anything wrong,” Phillips wrote.
Police eventually forced Lilley out of the car and he resisted as troopers attempted to put him in handcuffs. Phillips said they suspected Lilley was under the influence. Lilley was taken to Evangelical Community Hospital, where he refused a blood draw. Lilley told the hospital staff he uses medical marijuana.
Police charged Lilley with felony counts of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, DUI controlled substance, misdemeanors of recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, and various traffic summaries. District Judge Jeffrey Mensch set bail at $7,500. Lilley’s case was waived for court.
