MILLERSBURG – A sports cooperative agreement between Millersburg and Upper Dauphin School Districts is a step closer to becoming official. The Daily Item reports, during Monday night’s meeting, the Millersburg School Board approved the proposed co-op sports plan by an 8-1 vote.

The paper reports the merger will be completed in four phases by the 2024-25 school year. Discussions between both school districts were triggered by seeing declining enrollments in both districts.

The paper says the next step is proposing the merger in front of the PIAA, PIAA District 3, and the Tri-Valley League. If approved, phase one of the project will be implemented in the 2019-20 school year. We have more information on how each phase will be implemented at here.
