LEWISBURG – Membership rates are set, and dates are set for the opening of the Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness. Beth Miller, a board member for the center, and Jim Mathias, executive director, said there will be a staggered opening of the center’s various facets next month.
First the fitness center will be opening July 17, then the hard courts will open August 5, and the café’ Courtyard, and child development spaces will open in September. Beth Miller told us this is a culmination of their vision for the community facility,
“We’re calling it the third place. It’s not home. It’s not work or school, but it’s equally as important and a place where the community can gather, where families can gather and find something to do that keeps them active and keeps them involved and keeps them together.”
Mathias he’s working to resolve many last minute aspects of the construction and he said Zartman Construction and other contractors have been wonderful to work with. He said when it is finished; it will have something for everyone, “This is investment in your health. This is going to a phenomenal state of the art facility. We have great staff. We have great program. The equipment is absolutely spectacular.
The hours were will be 5:30a.m. to 9p.m. on weekdays. They’ll have personal trainers and about 150 group fitness classes per month including Yoga, Pilates, and many other classes. Membership rates peak at $49 per month for an adult with many discounts and reduced rates for other types of memberships.
