MIFFLINBURG- Celebrate the beginning of “Oktober” at a popular Mifflinburg festival. The Eleventh Annual Mifflinburg Oktoberfest is this Friday and Saturday at the VFW Fair Grounds on Route 45. The event begins with the traditional tapping of the keg by Mayor David Cooney Friday at 1 p.m. The rest of the weekend will feature performances from the Pleasant Valley Dancers, and John Stevens’ Polka Band. The Black Run Bohemian Dancers and the One man German Band will also perform. The traditional Keg Toss and Mug Lift events will take place Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. There is a $2 sign-up fee for both events.
There will be plenty of other fun activities, German food vendors, beer selections and more. There is no admission fee and parking is free. For those purchasing alcohol, ID’s are required and must purchase a wristband. This is a rain or shine event.
