DERRY TOWNSHIP, MONTOUR COUNTY – State police say a Middleburg man was injured after falling asleep at the wheel on Route 254 in Montour County last Monday morning.
Troopers tell us, 38-year-old Charles Hoover was travelling on Route 254 in Derry township around 2:30am when he fell asleep. They say went off the road and lost control of his milk tanker truck.
Hoover was trapped for a time; Washingtonville fire company responded and freed him from the truck through the back window. Troopers say he was taken to Geisinger, but there is no word on his medical condition.
Route 254 was blocked for a time after that crash.
