MIDDLEBURG – A Middleburg man has been charged with attempted homicide after allegedly holding a knife to a man’s throat. State police say 23-year-old Tyler Hockenberry confronted a man he believed was having a romantic relationship with his ex-girlfriend.
The incident took place on Sunday night along West Market Street in Middleburg. Troopers say Hockenberry held an eight-inch knife to the man’s throat and threatened to kill him. The victim was able to retrieve a shotgun from another room in the home and got away from Hockenberry unharmed. Troopers say Hockenberry then set a garbage can on fire on the victim’s porch. The fire caused damage to the wall of the home. The fire was put out by state police.
Hockenberry was arrested and charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, arson and multiple other charges. He was arraigned and sent to Snyder County Prison on $200,000 cash bail. (Ali Stevens)
