WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Dave McCormick is backing the Senate’s passage of President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” He says it delivers major tax relief and blocks what he calls the largest tax hike in U.S. history. The bill makes the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, saving families $2,500 a year.
It also expands the Child Tax Credit and keeps the paid family leave tax credit. Sen. McCormick says it ends taxes on tips and overtime and boosts energy, defense, and border security. Critics say the bill favors the wealthy and worsens the deficit. McCormick calls it a promise kept. The controversial bill now heads to the House.
Meantime…US Senator John Fetterman says he’s not just voting no — he’s voting “hell no” on the new 940-page budget bill. He said, “I’ll keep fighting to protect health care, defend nutrition assistance, block giveaways for billionaires, and prevent trillions more added to our national debt.”
The first time Pennsylvania Democrat criticized the rushed process and slammed the bill’s proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, along with an estimated $5 trillion added to the national debt.
