MCCLURE – A McClure man was arrested for a domestic assault last week. Middleburg police say 23-year-old Matthew Murray Jr. assaulted a woman at a home on North Brown Street last
Wednesday.
Police say the man was armed with a rifle and threated to shoot himself while she was present. The woman was able to escape with the help of a neighbor. Police assisted in getting the woman and her two children to safety.
Murray was arrested on Monday and has been charged with terroristic threats, stalking, simple assault, possessing instruments of crime and other counts. The woman was treated for injuries sustained in the assault. (Ali Stevens)
