LEWISBURG — Mark your calendar — a fundraising and food insecurity awareness event is coming next month. The Union-Snyder Community Action Agency will host its annual Hunger Coalition 5K and Kids Race on Saturday, September 6.
The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness is hosting the event. Organizers say the 5K begins at 9:30am, followed by a new Kids Race at 10:30am featuring a scavenger hunt, prizes, and other fun.
Proceeds benefit the Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition, a network of more than 100 local partners addressing food insecurity. Early bird registration runs through September 5, with 5K entry at $30 and Kids Race at $20.
Day-of registration is $40 for the 5K and $35 for the Kids Race. Those unable to attend can support the cause by purchasing apparel or making donations online. Organizers say the event is sponsored by WellSpan Health, Service 1st Federal Credit Union, and Orontes Yogurt.
