DANVILLE – The man who stole an ambulance Monday from Geisinger in Danville was a patient at the hospital awaiting treatment in the emergency room. 29-year-old Adam Zaharick said he “wanted to put on a show.” Police tells us the ‘show’ ended at the CVS pharmacy where Zaharick allegedly tried to steal oxycodone.
Zaharick admitted to recklessly driving the vehicle and hitting several vehicles and not stopping at stop signs. The incident took place around 11am Monday morning. The ambulance sustained substantial damage and Americus Ambulance staff said it may need to be totaled. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
Zaharick is being charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, robbery of a medicinal item, burglary, theft and accidents involving damage to attended vehicles. (Christopher Elio)
