SUNBURY – A Watsontown man was convicted of multiple rape charges and other felonies after repeatedly raping a girl between the ages of nine and 16. Northumberland County DA Tony Matulewicz says 41-year-old Jarrett Kinley got the jury verdict Wednesday.
He was convicted of four first-degree felony charges, including rape by forcible compulsion and rape of a child. He was also convicted of a first-degree minor felony of incest of a minor, and a first-degree misdemeanor of indecent assault.
State police say Kinley was first arrested in March of 2016 after the incidents came to light. The DA gave high praise to First Assistant District Attorney Julia Skinner for convicting Kinley on all counts, something that’s among the hardest cases to obtain a conviction.
