COAL TOWNSHIP – A Ranshaw man is charged with stabbing another man in Coal Township. Thomas Madden Jr. was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
Police say Madden pulled out a knife and cut another man’s neck at a fire company around midnight Tuesday. The victim was taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Hospital, where he was treated and released. Madden is jailed on $50,000 bail at the Northumberland County Prison wing at SCI Coal Township. He has a preliminary hearing on August 30th before District Judge John Gembic. (Ali Stevens)
