MOUNT CARMEL – A Northumberland County man has been charged with vehicular homicide for a crash on the Natalie Mountain on February 4, 2013. The News Item reports police say 54-year-old Glenn Meredith was under the influence of prescription painkillers when he hit another vehicle along Route 54 in Mount Carmel Township.
92-year-old Charles Carl and 76-year-old Ronald Matejick, both of Gordon in Schuylkill County, were pronounced dead at the scene. Meredith will be arraigned Thursday on charges of homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence. Police say toxicology tests performed after the crash found Meredith had diazepam and oxycodone in his system, which impaired his driving. (Ali Stevens)
