Man Facing Arson Charges for Setting Two Fires

SHAMOKIN — A Shamokin man is charged after intentionally setting two fires in Shamokin earlier this month.

According to media reports, 25-year-old Joseph Boscolovich Jr. set both fires May 9. The first occurred in the 200 block of South Seventh Street, then police say he set a blaze at the former Coal Hole at Fifth and Walnut Streets.

Reports say Boscolovich told officers he was doing demolition at the Seventh Street structure and said he was allegedly told to ‘take care of the buildings’ but didn’t say who told him to do it.

Boscolovich Jr. is charged with felony counts of arson, burglary, as well as criminal trespass and other charges.
