MCCLURE – A Mifflin County man was arrested after a woman was found lying on a roadway in McClure with serious injuries.
Middleburg Police say arrested was 43-year-old Samuel Smith of Reedsville on a felony warrant. Officers say Smith was arraigned in district court Tuesday and released on unsecured bail following the incident June 19 on Route 522.
Officers say Smith was driving his vehicle with the victim as a passenger. Officers say the victim was then found lying on the roadway by a passing motorist with critical injuries.
Officers say the victim was then flown to Geisinger and underwent ‘extensive medical procedures and rehabilitation.’ A medical update is unknown.
A preliminary hearing for Smith is scheduled for August 21.
