DANVILLE — There will be a major traffic switch on Interstate 80 eastbound in Montour County this week. PennDOT tells us the contractor will shift one eastbound lane across the median to westbound side of the interstate.
The eastbound traffic will be separated by a concrete glare screen from the two westbound lanes. The other eastbound lane will remain on the eastbound side of the Interstate. Traffic will be returned to a normal two lane pattern just past the Columbia County line.
The traffic switch will occur this morning and motorists will still have access to Route 54 from the right travel lane. Reconstruction will begin after the contractor finishes installing a barrier on the eastbound side of the highway. (Ali Stevens)
