UPDATE: The major back-ups through Danville have subsided, but some delays remain on Route 11 North and Route 54 East.
DANVILLE – If you’re driving through Danville, you may want to allow yourself plenty of time. There are major traffic delays on Routes 54 and 11. Route 54 westbound from Riverside into Danville is about a half-hour delay.
Traffic delays are exacerbated by the closure of the Route 54/Continental Boulevard railroad crossing. The crossing will be closed for repairs until next Tuesday. Mill Street is being used as the primary detour route. (Matt Catrillo)
