LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP — A 21-year-old Montoursville man was killed when his motorcycle collided with an SUV at a busy intersection Wednesday night. State police say Cogan Metzger sped off the I-180 exit and ran a red light before striking an SUV.
The SUV driver, who was not injured, attempted to avoid the crash. Witnesses found Metzger in cardiac arrest and began CPR. He died at the hospital.
Police say Metzger was wearing a helmet. The off-ramp and surrounding roads were shut down for about three hours as the investigation continued. Troopers returned to the scene Thursday morning. Toxicology results are pending.
