SHAMOKIN – Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School has been named the Northumberland County winner of PennDOT’s Paint the Plow contest.
PennDOT says the contest is an initiative promoting winter driving safety while showcasing student creativity.
This year’s theme, “Use your reason when it’s freezin’,” inspired the school’s design featuring a shivering blue figure surrounded by frosty details. The painted plow will remain on display year-round at PennDOT’s Northumberland County Maintenance Office in Sunbury.
PennDOT reminds drivers to stay safe this winter by giving plow trucks at least six car lengths of space, avoiding passing plow trains, and keeping vehicle lights on for visibility.
