Long time Selinsgrove field hockey coach resigns
SELINSGROVE – Selinsgrove’s field hockey coach for over three decades is stepping down. Seals coach Cathy Keiser announced Tuesday she’s resigning from the position after 34 years. In her announcement, Keiser says she needs to spend more time with her husband, who’s recovering from a stroke. Keiser coached both high school and middle school field hockey during her tenure.
She says the next head coach will be decided by the school board. Other details of the hiring process are not available at this time.
Keiser enjoyed an illustrious career, winning over 600 games, including leading the Seals recently to 13 straight district titles. This past season, the Seals were nationally ranked and won 20 straight games after losing its opening game of the season. Keiser’s son, Ryan, played football for Penn State from 2010-2014.
