LOCK HAVEN — The snowy forecast is postponing commencement at a Valley university. Lock Haven University has canceled their winter 2016 commencement ceremony. It was scheduled to take place Saturday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m in the Thomas Field House.
Vice President of University Relations Rodney Jenkins said, “Based upon the current weather forecast, the university has decided to take this precaution to protect the safety and wellbeing of all those traveling to and from campus.”
Graduates will still receive their degrees, but the ceremony will not be rescheduled. University officials say winter grads can walk in the spring of 2017.
