Announced at their kick off celebration Tuesday evening, this year’s goal is $1 million dollars say Joanne Troutman, CEO of the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way.
She talked about one of the projects of the Women United group, helping families in need, “In the next month or so, we’ll be an online catalog where you can go online to buy specific items from a catalog for families in need.”
She says they’ve raised almost half of that $1 million goal already. Among the new programs of which they are most proud, a GED scholarship program, the Women United program, including a health and wellness committee, and Crockpot cooking programs.
