Local Funding for Several Projects

HARRISBURG – State lawmakers announced nearly a half million dollars in local funding for several projects.

State senator Gene Yaw and state house member David Rowe, said $433,200 in state grant funding is for three Union County projects. The funding is from the Community Conservation Partnership Program.

Kelly Township received $243,400 to enhance the Kelly Township Recreation Facility with new walkways, parking, play areas, ADA accessibility, and stormwater measures.

In Lewisburg, $42,500 will support a Master Site Plan for the 26-acre Wolfe Field Athletic Complex.

East Buffalo Township was awarded $147,300 to advance Turtle Creek Park, adding a pedestrian path, pavilion, dog park, and ADA upgrades.

State senator Yaw said the funds represent a positive investment in our region’s recreation and environment. Rep. Rowe said improvements at Turtle Creek Park will create new outdoor opportunities for local residents.
