MIDDLEBURG – Selinsgrove state police have released some details from Thursday evening’s one-vehicle crash on Shade Mountain Road in the Bear Spring Trail area.
They say three teenagers; two unidentified 17-year-old girls (one of Selinsgrove, the other from Middleburg) and 18-year-old Trevor Spotts of Middleburg, were injured. All three were taken to Geisinger via ambulance. Medical information from the hospital is unavailable.
We told you last night, two of the injured were taken to Geisinger via Life Flight, according to witnesses. Two other teens – a 17-year-old male, who was the driver from Middleburg, and another 17-year-old female from New Berlin, were in the vehicle at the time but were not injured.
Troopers say the accident occurred around 5:15 p.m. Thursday. They say the driver lost control for unknown reasons, and the vehicle then struck a tree and rolled over. Troopers say no one was wearing a seat belt. An investigation is ongoing. There are reports the vehicle caught fire. Volunteer fire and rescue crews from Middleburg and Mount Pleasant Mills responded.
