LEWISBURG — Creating a vibrant downtown is the idea behind an incentive during the month of June to shop local in Lewisburg. “Be Lewisburg Loyal” is organized by the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership.
Linda Sterling is executive director and explained what Lewisburg Loyal is all about, “Lewisburg loves its loyal customers and we also want an opportunity to remind folks that we are all in this together in creating a vibrant downtown Lewisburg. If vibrancy downtown is important to you, here is your opportunity to come out and see what new businesses there are.”
There are 65 participating businesses in “Be Lewisburg Loyal.” They are all identified by a poster in the window of their store. If you shop at 15 of those businesses and make at least a $5.00 purchase, you are eligible to win a $500 shopping spree in downtown Lewisburg.
Jenni Steiler of the Campus Theatre and Lewisburg Downtown Partnership says shopping local is enjoyable and unique, “It’s much more interesting than going to a big box store or sitting in front of your computer and shopping. Get out and see your neighbors and visit your local charming merchants. See all of the surroundings. Everybody who has a small-town business in the Valley works to make sure it looks great and it offers something interesting and different and appeals to the local communities.”
