Legislation to Legalize Sunday Hunting Gains Support

HARRISBURG – A bill to fully legalize Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania has been reintroduced, with backing from the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

Senate Bill 67, sponsored by Sen. Dan Laughlin, R-Erie, would repeal the state’s Sunday hunting ban and grant full authority to the Game Commission. Supporters say it would expand hunting opportunities, help manage wildlife, and address crop damage.

Game Commission Executive Director Steve Smith called it “beneficial to hunting’s future.” The bill previously passed the Senate and gained House support before time ran out last session. Advocates hope for final approval this time.
