Lawmakers Tour Flooded Area of Lycoming, Tioga County

WILLIAMSPORT –— State senator Gene Yaw, state house member Joe and the PEMA Director Randy Padfield toured flood-ravaged areas in Tioga and Lycoming counties following severe flooding from Hurricane Debby’s remnants.

Sen. Yaw said, “The devastation is immense, but the resilience of our communities is remarkable.” He said there will be state resources for recovery made available. They said PEMA deployed an Incident Management Team to assist in recovery efforts.

The lawmakers commended the community’s response, including donations of essential supplies, and reiterated their push for policy changes to improve creek and stream maintenance, aiming to reduce future flood impacts.
