SUNBURY – Police from Northumberland and Snyder Counties were called to Sunbury early New Year’s Day for a large fight outside of a bar. Sunbury police were called to North Third Street near a bar for a fight involving about 100 people.
Sunbury police called for backup and Northumberland, Point Township and Selinsgrove police responded along with state police. The fight started around 2 a.m. as area bars were closing. It’s not known what prompted the fight.
The Daily Item reports smashed beer bottles were used as weapons and several people were bleeding and had cuts from smashed glass. No arrests were made. (Ali Stevens)
