Large Amount of Drugs Found in Mount Carmel Home

MOUNT CARMEL – There was a big police response for a drug trafficking arrest in Mount Carmel over the weekend. Police tell us, 39-year-old Corey Cannon of Mount Carmel was arrested, he’s facing charges of ‘intent to deliver a controlled substance,’ illegal possession of firearms, and criminal use of a communication facility, he’s jailed, $150,000 bail.

State and local police converged on Cannon’s location Saturday night, they say they’ve been investigating him for a year, and after the bust they say they found several handguns and rifles, $78,000 cash, numerous supplies of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, ecstasy, and marijuana.

Mount Carmel police, state police, their Special Emergency Response Team, the Northumberland-Montour Drug task Force, and other municipal police were in on the bust. Cannon is awaiting a hearing in magistrates court.
