ELYSBURG – Knoebels Amusement Resort will honor America’s veterans this weekend. On Saturday, July 30 a tribute to veterans will take place at the Hawaiian Bandshell following the Mahoney Brothers show at 6 p.m.
Local veterans from every branch of service will present their flag during their military theme song. Military veterans attending the show are encouraged to wear something that identifies their branch of service. The finale will feature 99-year-old Lt. Col. Joe Diblin carrying the American flag. Diblin served in the Army Air Corps training pilots to fly B-52 bombers.
Every season, active duty and reservists can redeem $40 in ride tickets at Knoebels. Retired military and veterans can redeem a $20 book of tickets once per season. (Jennifer Wakeman)
