ELYSBURG — Knoebels Amusement Resort is officially open for the season with a brand new roller coaster. First, a charity fundraiser opened the day on Saturday, according to Stacy Ososkie of Knoebels.
Ososkie said, “We started off the day at 11 a.m. with a charity auction benefiting Give Kids the World. We ended up raising about $7, 325 to give to that charity. It’s an organization that works on giving families with seriously ill children a nice vacation in Orlando at a magical place.”
Ososkie said the new roller coaster Impulse opened at 1 p.m. on Saturday, “People started lining up hours before opening. I know even before we started the actual ceremony, people were in line. A lot of excitement about it and we are especially happy with how supportive everyone has been and what the turnout has been, especially on short notice.”
Ben was one of the first riders of Impulse. What was his favorite part of the ride? Ben said, “The two times…the three times you go upside down.” Ben said the Twister is still his favorite roller coaster at Knoebels but he gave the Impulse a 10 out of 10 rating. (Ali Stevens)
