TREVORTON — With up to 6 inches of fresh snow in parts of The Valley, schools have closed for the day. WKOK talked to lots of energetic kids Monday afternoon.
Joseph and Elizabeth were enjoying the fresh snow with their friends Taya and Steven. “We are just sleigh riding and going down the hill… We got a double sled and a single sled,” Elizabeth said.
“Me and my sister’s school was cancelled,” Joseph chimed in. “And I get to play games.”
Elizabeth said, “I have my friend over and stuff, so it’s fun.”
“It’s a good snow,” Steven said. “Good for sledding.”
“It won’t pack good though,” Taya added.
“It’s like flour,” Joseph said.
Wyatt was shoveling while his younger brother’s Maverick and Mason were sledding in their yard Monday afternoon. They agreed that having off school for snow again tomorrow would be nice — even if Wyatt has to do more shoveling.
“I like off. I don’t care if it snows, as long as it’s not a lot. I like it, except for when it blocks the roads,” said youngest brother Mason. “I like going off that ramp.”
“I’d be alright with that. I like the snow,” Wyatt said. “I don’t mind shoveling, as long as it’s not a lot.”
“Yeah, I like sledding,” Maverick added.
The adults didn’t seem quite as excited about the snow Monday afternoon. Ashley was shoveling her driveway. She said while her young daughter loves to play in it, she is ready for the snow to end. “I usually don’t do the shoveling, my husband usually does it, but he’s at work and I’m off,” she said. “It’s pretty, but I’m ready for spring.”
