HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s defense lawyer says she’ll likely go public with new details about a pornographic email scandal as she fights criminal charges.
She responded after the state Supreme Court on Tuesday released orders from late last year that suggest there may be no barrier to the additional disclosure of emails.
Defense lawyer Gerald Shargel says the emails and attached images are critical to her efforts to prove she’s innocent of perjury, obstruction and the other charges.
He says the material will contradict prosecutors’ description of her alleged motive.
The justices say a county judge’s protective order wasn’t intended to prevent Kane from making “appropriate public disclosure” of information connected with the email scandal.
