HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania’s attorney general has released emails from a retired Northumberland County judge, that she says show a “reckless breach” of sealed court documents. Kathleen Kane sent a news release with emails from Judge Barry Feudale, saying the emails have been sent to the Judicial Conduct Board, which investigates misconduct allegations.
The emails involve contacts with two reporters from the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2013. They were sent days before the newspaper reported Kane had initiated a process removing Feudale from supervising a grand jury that investigated public corruption cases and the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.
Feudale tells the Daily Item he believes Kane illegally hacked his email account. The judge said messages were sent from his private account, so there is no reason they would have been routed through the attorney general’s email servers. (Ali Stevens/AP)
