SUNBURY — A Northumberland County bridge that has been under construction since September is now open. The Irish Valley Road bridge in Rockefeller Township reopened to traffic on November 15.
With the bridge reopened, motorists may notice a slight bump as they drive across until an overlay is applied to the deck. This is often the final step in completing the project. The polyester material can only be applied when temperatures are consistently above 40 degrees. Flaggers will assist in guiding traffic when the overlay is applied in mid-2017.
